Retro-reflectivity Testing
Light originating from the headlights of a vehicle is reflected off pavement markings and back toward the driver. Retro-reflectivity testing methods are a means for measuring the amount of light that is reflected back.
Retro-reflectivity testing allows a DOT to determine that the markings placed comply with established minimum standards and that they will perform this important function as intended.
We perform retro-reflectivity testing of pavement markings in conformance with the following ASTM specifications:
- ASTM E1710 Testing Method For Dry Conditions
- ASTM E2177 Testing Method For Standard Condition of Wetness (Wet Recovery Method)
- ASTM E2832 Testing Method for Standard Condition of Continuous Wetting
